Meet The Neater Heater Team
Tony Sim and Richard Winter / Neater Heater Directors
From its base in Moraira, on the North Costa Blanca, Neater Heater has been importing and distributing convector heaters throughout Iberia, and beyond, since 2009.
Based on Norwegian design and technology, Neater Heaters can be purchased from one of our partner outlets in Spain and Portugal, a full list of these is listed on the outlets tab on this website. Alternatively, customers can take advantage of our online shop and have their Neater Heaters delivered directly to their home by MRW couriers.
Of course, it wasn't always like this...................
Neither Tony Sim, a retired Firefighter, nor Richard Winter, Bodyshop parts manager, have a history of sales. In fact, starting a sales based company was the last thing on their minds when they each brought their families to Spain for the warm sunny climate. Then came winter and panic set in!
Realising that the installation cost made a full central heating system out of the question, and Gas Estuffas came with mould and health issues, they both resorted to electric heating. They tried them all.
- Expensive wall mounted oil-filled heaters - economical to run but not very effective:
- Cheap oil filled heaters from Ferreterias - cheap to buy, not very effective, but incredibly expensive to run:
- Paintable wall-mounted panel heaters – cheap to buy and incredibly ineffective.
Then they had a lucky break!
Tony- "My wife Cathy, and I were actively looking to replace the ineffective electric heater in our twelve year old son's bedroom. Even with the correct sized heater, as specified by the manufacturer, the room was too cold for him to concentrate on his homework - even in his coat and gloves.
Around this time, I was working in the holiday home of a British Businessman and was very impressed with his wall mounted electric heaters. The Heaters were Norwegian, and unavailable in Spain. The Businessman was the UK importer for them and agreed to get some sent over to us.
The improvement to our lifestyle was incredible. The whole house was warm in winter for the first time since we had moved to Spain six years earlier. Not only that, but they cost less to run than the heaters they replaced, so it was actually costing me less to keep my family warm than it had cost me the previous year to keep them cold!
Our son could now do his homework wearing just jeans and a teeshirt!
We also realised that these affordable,
quality electric convector heaters filled a gaping hole in the market, as
they not only provided economic running costs, but efficient heating as well.
Never having sold anything before, we nervously discussed the possibility of
starting a business to import them into Spain. We approached our tech-savvy
friends Richard and Nikki and pitched the idea to them.
It didn't take much convincing from us to
persuade them to come on board and Neater Heater was born."
Using the figures of our realistic credible competition we calculated
that it would cost well over €2,000 just to buy their most economic radiators
to heat a (sample) three bedroom villa. We would be able to supply and fit our
convector heaters to the same villa for less than €1000. Nine years later: We
Many ex-pats obviously agreed with us and, despite starting out in the depth of the financial crisis, we have grown to a point where we now have many outlets where customers can view and purchase Neater heaters.
We have also partnered with MRW couriers, to make these fantastic products available throughout Spain, The Balearic Islands, France and Portugal when purchased through this website’s online shop. We offer free delivery in Iberia and Portugal with a Small additional delivery charge to France.
Always improving our service
For nearly a decade, we at Neater Heater have striven to provide a much greater choice, with an impressive expansion of our product range.
Neater Heater customers are now able to choose from several manufacturers, styles, and models. The original BEHA heaters still have the design and style that has made them popular for all these years, but now come with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities that give our customers great flexibility and control. With the introduction of the Norwegian designed Adax range of heaters in 2013, and the Vigo range from Turkey in 2016, we can now offer a variety of competitively priced heaters that neither compromise efficiency nor effectiveness. The Beha, Vigo, and Adax are our most popular models due to their simplicity. However, our Neo range, and glass-fronted Clea heaters will appeal to customers who have an eye for style and colour.
Our latest exciting innovation is the introduction of the BEHA and ADAX Wi-Fi Apps. These allow our customers to control the timings and settings of certain models from their mobile smart-phone. Using a user friendly App you can turn your heating on from the Airport if you are returning after an absence, or check whether, or not, you left the bedroom heater on accidentally, and then change its setting if you found you have.
Whether you want High Tech, or simple controls, Neater Heater is still Norway's (and Turkey's) answer to efficiently heating your home in Spain (and France, and Portugal)
